Birra Baladin
Beginning life as a humble pub in Piozzo, near Torino, Birra Baladin has grown extensively to offer an array of delicious creations, offering a broad range of Italian craft alcoholic drinks, including their Italian beers and also including the ever-popular Sidro Italian Cider.
Baladin Italian beers are complex, entirely fermented in the bottle, and never pasteurized.
The Baladin farm brewery was originally created in 1996 as a brewpub (production and bar) in Piozzo - a small village in the Langhe area in the province of Cuneo - by its founder and master brewer Teo Musso.
Throughout its evolution, it has moved several times following the changes in its production needs: from a few square meters stolen from the to the larger space in Teo’s parents chicken coop, to the current modern and wide facility at the Baladin Open Garden.
Baladin has a modern production facility with a nominal capacity of 50,000 hectoliters per year. It is designed to preserve the integrity of the ingredients, keeping the beer alive, with no pasteurization.
Today, Baladin is synonymous to Italian craft beer. In French, Baladin means "wandering entertainer" which perfectly describes the brewery's reputation for producing unusual and interesting beers. Designed to be paired with food, their brews demonstrate a sense of experimentation and creativity through the use of herbs, spices, and rare grains. In fact, Baladin was the first microbrewery to create a beer made entirely of Italian ingredients.
